Annual State Meeting
Let’s get back to basics! For this year’s State SAF Meeting, we are facilitating a weekend for foresters, landowners, students, academics, and the general public to exchange ideas and network. Let’s all spend a day or two at Lubrecht Experimental Forest and share our experiences, learn from each other, and talk about where land management is headed. Join us if you are interested in:
Refreshing and updating your field skills
Engaging with Forestry students… let’s welcome the next generation of foresters!
Practical professional development
We have the unique opportunity to use Lubrecht Experimental Forest (30 minutes from Missoula) as the event site. On Friday, join us in a mix of field and classroom work throughout the day, alongside a round of forestry trivia and our annual Awards Dinner catered by Notorious P.I.G. Then on Saturday, University of Montana students and faculty will show you around the important and useful work they are doing on the experimental forest. This is a great opportunity for feedback and discussion with a diverse group of stakeholders. Of course, all of it is happening in the woods, where these discussions are best held. Put on your boots and dress for April weather, and let’s all learn together!
Lodging options
Being at Lubrecht, we can also take advantage of the variety of lodging options available on site. Staying at Lubrecht will allow you to easily access the meeting, have the kind of informal discussions that lead to good ideas and cooperation, make some new friends, and maybe reconnect with some old friends and reminisce on the forestry days of old. SAF will be handling reservations on our end, so please click this lodging link to make a reservation. Some more information about each lodging option is available at the Lubrecht website, and summary of our event’s prices and options is below. PLEASE NOTE: WE WILL BE TAKING PAYMENTS FOR LODGING AT CHECK-IN, SO YOU WILL NOT BE CHARGED WHEN YOU MAKE A RESERVATION.
